Pallet planters are a great way to brighten up your garden with flowers, while helping the environment by recycling. Over the last 8 weeks we have been working on our pallet planters for our courtyard garden.
Firstly we gathered the pallets and cleaned them down with a hand brush and water. Then we left the palettes to dry.
Next we sanded them down with a block and sandpaper. We wore gloves to protect our hands from splinters.
The week afterwards, we applied a few coats of bright green paint to each palette. This made the pallets look bright and colourful. When the pallets were dry, we brought them to the courtyard.
We covered the pallets with black felt. This involved measuring the material and stapling it to make pockets for the plants to go in. We then filled each felt pocket with compost and then we planted the flowers into them.
The flowers are thriving and the courtyard looks very cheerful and bright.
