Positive Mental Health
Yesterday, 10th October was International Mental Health Day, which is an annual event. The overall objective of the day is “raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of better mental health” (World Health Organisation).
A Walk in the Park
To mark the occasion, and to “support better mental health”, Thomas Court participants took a walk over to the Phoenix Park. According to Dr. Eddie Murphy, (from Operation Transformation) walking 5,000 of your recommended 10,000 daily steps in green spaces has a positive impact on your mental health.
Luckily we had nice weather, although bad weather never usually stops us!
We used the opportunity to clock up some more points for “Beat the Street”. We took in the lovely sights and even took some pictures for you to enjoy.
