Trip to Irish Family History Centre

By Eric

We recently made a trip down to The Irish Family History Centre in Custom House Quay (CHQ). They were holding a family history treasure hunt.

We used touch screens to do quizzes and to find out where in Ireland our surname is from. We also used the computers there to look up census records and old civil records, which the state started to collect in 1864.

After we finished in CHQ, we walked up the Spire. We went for food we all had a talk about the day we had. It was very good. Thanks to all who came, thanks to staff.
