Green Ribbon Art Project
On Tuesday 15th May in the afternoon a group of us from Thomas Court Centre produced artwork on the theme “What’s Next? – what are your hopes, dreams or aspirations for when you finish in Thomas Court?” It was a Green Ribbon Art Project.
So we sat down in the Thomas Court artroom to begin our art projects.
Exploration of Themes
We had a selection of printed out artworks to inspire us. We had coloured pencils, pastels and paints to use as media. Sarah wrote down a series of words and phrases we shouted out to her on the themes of “What’s Next?” on the easel noticeboard. I mentioned green issues as a topic I was interested in but decided to produce artwork on the theme of “travel”.
Planet Earth hemisphere
I decided what my piece would look like. It was a hemisphere of the planet earth with iconic buildings sprouting up from it. These included Big Ben, the Sydney Opera House, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate bridge and the London ferris wheel.
